TRON News Roundup: USDT Dominance Meets Sun’s Reward and TRX’s Moscow Expansion

TRON is seeing notable activity in stablecoin payments, scientific research and institutional crypto derivatives. USDT on TRON has emerged as the leading payment method on CoinsBee, while Justin Sun has backed a new $1 million prize for mathematical and scientific work. Moscow Exchange has also added TRX to its perpetual futures lineup for qualified investors.

USDT on TRON Leads CoinsBee Payments

CoinsBee said USDT on TRON was its most-used onchain payment option during the 90 days ending September 1, 2026. The number of completed payments using TRC-20 USDT was around 1.8 times higher than Bitcoin and approximately 1.9 times higher than Ethereum.

During 2026 so far, TRC-20 USDT accounted for 16.23% of all payments processed on the platform, up from 9.92% in 2025. Its share increased 64% over the year.

The analysis covers completed and delivered orders between June 4 and September 1. CoinsBee’s figures also show that transaction count and payment value were not distributed evenly. TRC-20 represented 44.6% of USDT payment transactions but generated 64.5% of total USDT turnover, indicating a higher average transaction value than USDT payments made through other networks.

CoinsBee operates in more than 180 countries, supports over 200 cryptocurrencies and offers products from more than 5,000 brands. The platform says it serves more than 500,000 customers.

The figures are specific to CoinsBee and should not be interpreted as an independently audited ranking of worldwide cryptocurrency payment activity. Still, they provide a snapshot of TRON-based USDT usage on a major crypto gift-card marketplace.

TRC-20’s transaction costs and settlement characteristics remain relevant to stablecoin payments, helping explain its use on the platform.

CoinsBee and TRON DAO are also running a promotional campaign from September 21 through October 5, 2026. Users who meet the eligibility requirements can receive a 2% discount when paying with USDT on TRON and entering the code USDT-TRC. The promotion is limited to one use per user and remains subject to its terms.

Justin Sun Backs $1 Million Research Prize

Justin Sun has backed a new prize worth up to $1 million for selected achievements in mathematics and science, according to The Block.

The initiative, known as the “Justin Sun Prize,” aims to encourage successful solutions to 66 mathematical problems. The first $1 million award was presented to an OpenAI research team for mathematical work produced by GPT-6 Astra.

The program adds a research-focused element to Sun’s philanthropic activities and is intended to recognize advances in mathematics and science.

Moscow Exchange Adds TRX to Perpetual Futures

Moscow Exchange has expanded its crypto derivatives offering by launching cash-settled perpetual futures tied to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX. The TRX contract is listed under TRXUSDF.

The contracts track USD-denominated MOEX crypto indexes, while gains and losses are settled in Russian rubles. They roll daily and do not involve delivery of the underlying crypto assets.

Access is available only to qualified investors.

Initial margin requirements stand at 22% for BTC, 35% for ETH, 38% for SOL, 43% for XRP and 30% for TRX.

MOEX said more than 72,000 qualified investors participate in its existing digital-asset futures market, which has recorded cumulative turnover above 600 billion rubles.

The new perpetual contracts extend the exchange’s existing crypto derivatives offering rather than opening direct spot-market access. For TRX, the launch creates another regulated derivatives product for qualified investors seeking exposure to the token’s price movements.
