Could Bitcoin Be Ready for Its Next Big Move? Perplexity AI Predicts What’s Coming

Perplexity AI has presented an extreme bullish scenario suggesting Bitcoin (BTC) could experience a historic price surge by January 1, 2027. The hypothetical outlook depends on an unlikely institutional catalyst that could dramatically increase demand for the cryptocurrency before the end of 2026.

The scenario imagines several of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds and national pension systems announcing plans to allocate a substantial portion of their long-term reserves to Bitcoin. These institutions collectively oversee trillions of dollars, making such a commitment potentially significant for the broader crypto market.

If this development occurred, Bitcoin could gain greater recognition as a long-term store of value and a potential hedge against currency depreciation, geopolitical instability, and uncertainty in global monetary policy. The announcement could also encourage other institutional investors to increase their BTC holdings.

Bitcoin is trading around $83,300, up 2.4% over the past 24 hours following a rebound from the low $80,000 range. Daily trading volume has climbed to $28.2 billion, compared with $21 billion in the previous session.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Key Levels to Watch for a Rally

Bitcoin remains in a consolidation phase in the low-to-mid $80,000 range after struggling to break above the $85,000–$87,000 resistance zone. The $80,000–$81,000 range remains a crucial support level, while recent price movements suggest higher lows compared with earlier market declines.

A decisive weekly close above $90,000–$95,000 could signal renewed bullish momentum and potentially bring Bitcoin’s previous all-time high near $126,000 back into focus.

If the hypothetical institutional investment scenario materializes, a breakout above that record could fuel further gains, with long-term Fibonacci extensions and measured-move projections offering additional technical targets.

Momentum indicators remain relatively neutral, leaving room for an advance before reaching the extreme overbought levels often associated with rapid, parabolic rallies.

On the downside, traders are watching support around $80,000–$81,000, followed by the $76,000–$78,000 zone. A hold above these levels could help preserve Bitcoin’s broader recovery trend.

Perplexity AI Predicts Bitcoin Could Exceed $1 Million

Under its highly speculative scenario, Perplexity AI estimates that Bitcoin could reach between $750,000 and $1.4 million by January 1, 2027, if the market enters an exceptionally strong bull cycle. An even more aggressive projection places BTC above $2 million.

However, these targets depend on extraordinary assumptions and should not be interpreted as conventional price forecasts. A rally of this magnitude would require exceptional market conditions and potentially unprecedented institutional demand.

For now, the projection remains hypothetical. Bitcoin’s actual performance will depend on investor demand, liquidity, macroeconomic developments, and broader market sentiment.
