Strategy added $2 billion in bitcoin to its holdings in a significant buy last week

Michael Saylor’s Strategy expanded its bitcoin holdings last week with another major purchase, acquiring 24,869 BTC for roughly $2.01 billion.

The company bought the coins at an average price of $80,985 each, bringing its total bitcoin reserves to 843,738 BTC. According to its latest SEC Form 8-K filing, Strategy has now spent approximately $64 billion accumulating bitcoin, with an average cost basis of $75,700 per coin.

The latest acquisition was funded primarily through the sale of the firm’s high-yield STRC preferred stock, with an additional $83.7 million raised via common stock issuance.

Despite the aggressive buying, Strategy’s shares (MSTR) fell around 2.5% in premarket trading, reflecting a slight decline in bitcoin prices, which were hovering near $77,700, modestly below Friday’s levels.
