XRP News: Brevan Howard Deal Signals Wider Expansion for Ripple
Ripple Prime has strengthened its relationship with Brevan Howard by offering the investment manager’s funds access to multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services covering both traditional and digital markets. The expansion increases Ripple’s institutional reach, although the announcement does not establish a direct connection to XRP demand.
According to Ripple, the deal reflects growing interest from major investment managers in prime brokerage platforms capable of supporting traditional and digital markets within a regulated, enterprise-grade structure. Brevan Howard is a global alternative investment firm with approximately $35 billion in assets under management and around 1,000 employees.
The partnership also builds on an existing financial relationship. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. The latest development comes as institutions increasingly seek integrated infrastructure for custody, execution, financing, and other services across financial markets.
Ripple Prime Services for Brevan Howard
Under the expanded relationship, Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard funds with multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing. The platform combines access to different asset classes and products, with Ripple positioning the system as a way to improve capital efficiency and make institutional operations more streamlined.
The announcement does not provide details on which funds or asset classes will be included. Ripple has also not disclosed fees, transaction volumes, or an implementation schedule, leaving the size and practical scope of the arrangement unknown.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said sophisticated investors are looking for a new generation of prime services and that relatively few providers have the capabilities to meet those requirements. He said Brevan Howard’s decision reflects confidence in Ripple Prime’s competitive standing and cross-asset capabilities.
Ripple says it has more than 85 licenses and provides institutional offerings that include payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management. Although XRP and RLUSD are part of Ripple’s wider ecosystem, the company did not say that either asset will be used by Brevan Howard funds as part of the agreement.
Institutional Growth With No Confirmed XRP Impact
The main significance of the deal is Ripple’s continued expansion into institutional financial infrastructure. By combining services for traditional and digital markets on a single platform, Ripple Prime is seeking to make it easier for investment firms to manage their market activities and capital.
Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said Ripple has created a differentiated platform that the firm expects to improve operational efficiency and capital efficiency for its investment teams. However, no specific figures were provided to quantify those expected benefits.
McGroarty also highlighted the increasing connection between digital and traditional financial markets and the corresponding need for institutional-grade infrastructure. Ripple described the new agreement as an extension of its existing relationship with Brevan Howard, following the 2025 investment.
For XRP holders, the distinction is important. Brevan Howard’s adoption of Ripple Prime may increase Ripple’s presence among institutional investors, but it does not demonstrate that XRP is required for the platform’s brokerage, clearing, or financing services. There is also no indication that the agreement itself will generate direct demand or value for XRP.
The partnership nevertheless represents another step in Ripple’s institutional expansion. With more than 85 reported licenses and services spanning payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management, Ripple continues to position itself as infrastructure connecting traditional finance with digital asset markets.
