RLUSD Settlement Heads to Europe as DriveWealth Advances Ripple Integration

RLUSD Settlement Heads to Europe as DriveWealth Advances Ripple Integration

DriveWealth is partnering with Ripple to incorporate RLUSD stablecoin settlement infrastructure on the XRP Ledger into its brokerage platform. The initiative is expected to launch first in Europe, with a possible expansion into the United States at a later stage. The companies announced the agreement on October 15, 2026.

DriveWealth provides brokerage technology that enables fintech firms, digital wallet operators and financial institutions to offer investment access to U.S. markets. Its infrastructure serves more than 100 partners worldwide, potentially giving the RLUSD integration access to a broad range of financial service providers.

However, the size of DriveWealth’s existing network does not establish how widely RLUSD will be used. The companies have not identified the partners that will adopt the service, confirmed whether any integrations are already operating or stated whether the rollout will eventually cover the entire network.

The partnership aims to simplify how international customers transfer money into brokerage accounts. Conventional bank wires can be delayed by processing schedules and transfer cutoff times, leaving investors waiting for funds to become available. Stablecoin transfers that can be converted into cash in near real time could help shorten the process and reduce dependence on traditional banking infrastructure.

DriveWealth and Ripple Target Settlement, Payments and Custody

The settlement solution will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, supported by Ripple’s stablecoin minting and burning capabilities. DriveWealth says customers will be able to fund brokerage accounts and manage collateral using stablecoins that can be converted into cash in near real time, potentially avoiding delays associated with bank transfers.

The partnership also includes Ripple Payments to facilitate cross-border payment acceptance from DriveWealth’s international partners. The integration is intended to make incoming payments more efficient and simplify the transfer of funds between markets.

The companies are also developing digital-asset custody services for Europe, with plans to consider additional markets over time. Their approach involves moving treasury and custody operations onto Ripple’s infrastructure, giving clients real-time visibility into dollar balances, stablecoin holdings and cryptocurrencies while allowing transfers between these assets.

Equity financing is at a less advanced stage. DriveWealth and Ripple Prime are examining potential opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business. Unlike the settlement and payments integrations, this initiative remains exploratory and has not been confirmed as a live service.

Europe Set to Receive the Initial RLUSD Rollout

DriveWealth and Ripple intend to introduce settlement services in Europe before potentially expanding into the U.S. market. Their custody plans also begin in Europe, with other regions potentially added later. Ripple says its regulatory footprint includes more than 85 licenses.

DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan said the company wants its funding capabilities to match its existing extended trading hours.

“We’ve already enabled 24/5 trading; now we need the funding to match, so clients can move with the markets instead of waiting for them,” Hassan said.

The companies have not yet provided a launch date, expected transaction volumes or a list of confirmed participating partners. As a result, the timeline for the first operational deployment and the extent of adoption remain uncertain.

The partnership was scheduled to be discussed during a Ripple Swell fireside chat in New York City on Wednesday, October 28.

For RLUSD and the XRP Ledger, the agreement represents a potential expansion into brokerage funding, cross-border payments and institutional custody. Whether it produces a meaningful increase in stablecoin usage will depend on implementation, the number of participating partners and actual transaction activity once the services become available.
