Luxembourg Grants Ripple Fully Compliant Crypto Asset Provider Status
Here’s a refined, crisp rewrite with a slightly more authoritative tone:
The approval places Ripple in full compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), enabling it to provide crypto services to financial institutions, corporates, and businesses across all 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries.
Ripple said Monday that Luxembourg has upgraded its preliminary Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization to a full license, clearing the company to operate throughout the EEA.
“This authorization marks Ripple’s entry into the fully regulated MiCA landscape, positioning us to scale with confidence,” said Cassie Craddock, the firm’s managing director for Europe and the U.K.
With the upgrade, Ripple joins a select group of crypto firms that have secured full MiCA approval. The regulation, introduced three years ago, came fully into force on July 1, requiring unlicensed firms to exit the market. Ripple had initially received a provisional authorization in June.
Meanwhile, major platforms including Binance are among thousands of firms that failed to meet the compliance deadline. Under MiCA rules, a license issued in one EU country allows firms to “passport” services across the entire bloc.
Earlier this year, Ripple also secured full Electronic Money Institution (EMI) approval from Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, enabling it to expand regulated payment services across the European Union.
