Ethereum-focused treasury SharpLink stakes $170 million ETH across the Linea network
SharpLink Deploys $170M ETH Into Yield Strategy on Linea Network
SharpLink Gaming (SBET) has staked $170 million in Ethereum (ETH $3,089.74) into a multi-year yield program on ConsenSys’ Linea network, advancing a strategy first outlined late last year.
The approach combines native Ethereum staking rewards, restaking via EigenCloud, and additional incentives from Linea and ether.fi, all structured under a qualified custodian through Anchorage Digital, SharpLink said in a post on X Thursday.
This deployment follows the firm’s October announcement that it planned to allocate up to $200 million of ETH to Linea over several years. SharpLink described the setup as an institutional-grade version of a strategy popular in crypto-native markets: layering multiple yield streams on ETH while maintaining strict operational controls.
Consensys-backed Linea is a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM), enabling faster, lower-cost transactions by batching them for verification on Ethereum mainnet. SharpLink said the combination creates an “enhanced yield” profile, increasing ETH productivity without moving into fully decentralized finance custody.
The move reflects a broader shift among publicly traded crypto firms toward yield- and infrastructure-focused strategies, rather than purely directional token exposure. SharpLink shares recently drew attention after Bernstein initiated coverage with an outperform rating, citing the firm as an institutional gateway to Ethereum.
