Dog, Cat Memecoins Catch the Rally as Smaller Tokens Surge 2X in Seven Days

The broader crypto rally is now reaching smaller, highly speculative tokens, with dog- and cat-themed memecoins recording some of the market’s biggest gains as traders move further toward riskier assets.

Cash Cat, a token on Robinhood’s blockchain, climbed roughly 51% in 24 hours Tuesday to $0.218. Its weekly gain has surpassed 113%, while the token is up about 345% over the past month, giving it a market capitalization of approximately $215 million.

Other cat-related memecoins have also surged. Thinking Cat gained 131% over seven days, Purr rose 93%, Popcat advanced 54%, and MEW, also known as cat in a dogs world, climbed about 49%.

Dog-themed tokens are showing comparable strength. Dog (Bitcoin) has nearly doubled in a week, while dogwifhat has gained 64%, Bonk has risen 47% and Floki has advanced 40%.

Even the largest memecoins are participating in the rally. Dogecoin is up roughly 32% over seven days, while Shiba Inu has gained around 30%.

Speculation Moves Down the Market-Cap Ladder

Memecoins are generally driven by online trends, jokes, communities and speculative trading rather than conventional business activity or cash generation. As a result, their performance can provide a snapshot of how willing investors are to take on risk.

The latest gains suggest the momentum seen in larger cryptocurrencies is spreading into smaller tokens. With less liquidity available in these markets, relatively modest changes in demand can lead to much larger percentage moves.

Cash Cat is a notable example. About $80 million worth of the token traded over the past 24 hours, compared with a market capitalization of roughly $215 million. That represents exceptionally high turnover relative to its overall size.

The same limited liquidity that boosts gains can also deepen losses. Smaller memecoins can jump rapidly when buying accelerates, but prices may fall just as quickly when traders begin exiting their positions.

Fear & Greed Index Climbs

The rise in speculative tokens has coincided with a significant improvement in overall crypto sentiment. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index has reached around 75, its highest level since early October 2025, compared with approximately 30 a week earlier.

The index had previously climbed into the 70s shortly before the Oct. 10 deleveraging event, which triggered a major market sell-off. However, the indicator reflects prevailing investor sentiment and is not intended to forecast whether another crash will occur.
