Trump Media Sends Massive $342M Bitcoin Transfer to Crypto.com
Trump Media & Technology Group has reportedly transferred 4,259 BTC, valued at approximately $434 million, to Crypto.com, according to blockchain analytics firm Arkham. The transaction has triggered speculation about the company’s Bitcoin treasury plans as it approaches a potentially significant debt repayment deadline.
Arkham’s blockchain records show that the Bitcoin originated from wallets identified as “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral” and was sent to an address linked to Crypto.com. The transfers took place at 02:17 UTC in two separate batches.
The first transaction moved 2,140.03 BTC, while the second transferred another 2,119.31 BTC to the same destination. The movement has attracted attention because the originating wallets appear to be connected to Bitcoin pledged as collateral for the company’s convertible debt.
In its second-quarter financial disclosure, Trump Media reported that 4,260.73 BTC had been pledged against its convertible notes as of June 30. The associated loan agreement restricts withdrawals and distributions involving the collateral. Although Arkham’s wallet labels correspond with this disclosure, the reason behind the latest transfer remains unknown.
The transaction also comes shortly before a potential repayment deadline. Trump Media’s November 2 securities filing revealed that convertible noteholders can demand cash repayment on November 30. If all eligible holders exercise this option, the company could face a financial obligation of approximately $1 billion.
The filing warned that Trump Media might need to sell Bitcoin or other digital assets if refinancing or alternative funding arrangements cannot cover the required payments.
The 4,259 BTC transfer accounts for roughly 30% of the 14,139 BTC Trump Media reported holding, including pledged assets, as of July 31. However, the figure comes from an earlier disclosure and does not establish whether the company’s current Bitcoin reserves have decreased.
CoinDesk contacted Trump Media seeking clarification about the transfer and its Bitcoin holdings but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Crypto.com Deposit Leaves Bitcoin Selling Speculation Unconfirmed
Large Bitcoin transfers to cryptocurrency exchanges often raise expectations of potential selling activity. However, moving assets to an exchange or custody provider does not automatically mean that the holder intends to sell.
The latest transaction has nevertheless attracted attention from blockchain monitoring accounts and cryptocurrency market observers on X because of its substantial value.
EyeOnChain questioned whether the transfer could mark the beginning of a Bitcoin sell-off but noted that an exchange deposit alone cannot establish liquidation intentions. The movement could also reflect custody changes or other treasury management decisions.
Trump Media has previously transferred significant quantities of Bitcoin to Crypto.com without selling the assets.
In May 2026, wallets associated with the company moved approximately 2,650 BTC, worth around $205 million, to the platform. A company spokesperson subsequently confirmed that the Bitcoin had been transferred but not sold, describing the transaction as part of its wider trading strategy.
Another movement followed in early August 2026, when approximately 2,628 BTC valued at $165 million was sent to Crypto.com. Trump Media explained that the transaction was related to custody management rather than a sale.
Crypto.com has served as one of the company’s custody partners since it introduced its Bitcoin treasury strategy.
Therefore, the latest $434 million transfer does not independently confirm that Trump Media is preparing to sell its Bitcoin holdings. Nevertheless, the upcoming convertible-note repayment deadline has increased attention on the company’s treasury management and whether its digital assets could be used to meet future financial obligations.
