Bitcoin Rebound Meets Fed Rate Hike Uncertainty as Nasdaq and KOSPI Recover
Bitcoin is recovering toward $81,000, gaining nearly 2% as investors return to risk assets ahead of the Federal Reserve’s FOMC policy announcement. The rebound follows a recent dip below $80,000, when uncertainty about the direction of interest rates put pressure on the cryptocurrency market.
Global equities have also moved higher. The Nasdaq Composite rose 1.18%, while the S&P 500 added 0.60% at Tuesday’s close. In Asia, South Korea’s KOSPI surged 6.63%, moving back above 6,000 points as optimism surrounding semiconductor demand supported regional stocks.
However, the improving market mood faces a critical test from the Federal Reserve. Traders largely expect policymakers to keep interest rates unchanged, but persistent inflation and rising Treasury yields continue to raise concerns about another hike. Bitcoin’s next move could depend on both the rate decision and the Fed’s signals about its future policy plans.
Bitcoin Price Rebounds as Nasdaq and KOSPI Post Gains
Bitcoin’s recovery comes as technology stocks regain strength across major markets. The Nasdaq Composite ended Tuesday at 26,477.81, while the S&P 500 closed at 7,722.60. Both benchmarks advanced as investors bought technology shares, particularly companies benefiting from growing artificial intelligence demand.
South Korea’s equity market recorded an even stronger rally. The KOSPI jumped 6.63% to settle at 6,012.44, driven in part by record quarterly earnings from SK Hynix and its shareholder-return plans. The move also reflected increased confidence in the outlook for AI-related semiconductor demand.
Continued gains in global stocks could provide support for Bitcoin if investors maintain their appetite for risk. Still, BTC has yet to reclaim $82,000, a level that could help confirm a more durable recovery.

Rate-Hike Concerns Remain Ahead of the Federal Reserve Decision
The FOMC announcement remains a major near-term catalyst for Bitcoin, despite strong market expectations for an interest-rate pause.
Polymarket places the probability of rates remaining unchanged at 95%, while the odds of a 25-basis-point increase stand at roughly 4%. CME FedWatch data also favor a hold, assigning a 91% probability to unchanged rates.
Beyond the immediate decision, traders will pay close attention to Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s remarks for clues about the December meeting. Annual inflation accelerated to 3.7% in September, while energy-price pressures linked to the Iran war have complicated the inflation outlook.
Even if the Fed leaves rates untouched, a hawkish statement could weaken Bitcoin’s recovery. Signals that borrowing costs may remain elevated for longer or rise again could push Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar higher, making speculative investments less attractive.
A more dovish message could offer relief to crypto markets. If policymakers hold rates steady while suggesting that further tightening is less likely, investors may become more willing to increase exposure to risk assets.
Can Bitcoin Break Through $82,000?
Bitcoin’s immediate priority is to sustain its move above $80,000 and establish stronger upward momentum. The $82,000 level remains an important resistance point for traders seeking confirmation that buyers are regaining control.
A decisive move above $82,000 could create room for a recovery toward $84,000. However, another rejection at resistance could send BTC back toward $80,000, putting recent support to the test.
The Fed announcement may trigger sharp price fluctuations, but its impact on Bitcoin’s medium-term direction remains uncertain. Markets typically price in anticipated rate decisions ahead of time, meaning unexpected policy signals or changes in forward guidance can have a greater effect than the announcement itself.
If the Fed holds rates as expected, Bitcoin could experience considerable intraday volatility without establishing a sustained trend.
Previous market movements, as shown in the chart above, also indicate that Bitcoin does not follow a consistent pattern after FOMC meetings. BTC has fallen after some rate holds before recovering, while other meetings have been followed by gains despite unchanged rates or tighter monetary policy.
