Ethereum ETF Demand Hits $221M as ETH Prepares for Another Move Higher
- Ethereum is seeing a renewed wave of institutional buying, with U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs attracting more than $220 million on Aug. 20. The funds recorded over $219 million in net inflows, marking their fourth straight day of gains. BlackRock’s ETHA dominated the session with approximately $173 million.
- The latest inflow was larger than the $189.15 million recorded on Aug. 19, reinforcing signs that institutional demand is strengthening as ETH rebounds.
Ethereum ETFs Draw $220M as ETH Moves Toward $2,400
- ETHA accounted for around $173 million of the Aug. 20 inflows. BlackRock’s ETHB followed with about $35.9 million, while Fidelity’s FETH added approximately $5.8 million.
- Bitwise’s ETHW attracted nearly $2.8 million, and VanEck’s ETHV recorded roughly $1.7 million. Other funds posted smaller inflows or saw little change.
- The latest surge came immediately after Ethereum ETFs brought in $189 million a day earlier, their largest single-day inflow since October 2025.
- The August turnaround is notable after a difficult May and June, when Ethereum ETFs collectively lost more than $1 billion through net outflows. The recent run of positive flows signals a clear shift in investor demand.
- The stronger ETF activity has also coincided with a sharp recovery in ETH, which has moved well above its recent lows.
ETH Faces $2,400 Resistance
- ETH climbed past $2,300 during the latest rally and briefly traded close to $2,400, adding momentum to the broader recovery.
- Sentiment has improved alongside the price move, with traders watching whether $2,300 can establish itself as a lasting support level. The four-session ETF inflow streak suggests institutions are continuing to increase exposure despite the recent price gains.
- Supply dynamics are also becoming more favorable. Santiment data showed exchange-held ETH dropping from around 7.70 million coins on June 2 to 6.54 million on Aug. 18, a decline of about 15%.
- A reduction in exchange balances can limit the amount of ETH immediately available for sale. When paired with stronger ETF demand, the shrinking liquid supply could reinforce the bullish case if accumulation continues.
- The $2,400 area is now the key hurdle for Ethereum. A decisive move above that level while ETF inflows remain strong could set the stage for a test of higher resistance levels.
- For now, institutional demand and tightening exchange supply are giving Ethereum’s recovery additional momentum.
