Zashi Wallet Taps NEAR for Private Swaps, Boosting Network Activity

Activity on NEAR’s intent-based platform has spiked in recent weeks, driven by the integration of Zcash’s Zashi wallet. Transaction volumes nearly doubled month-on-month, and active users have surpassed 120,000, according to Dune Analytics.

In the past 30 days, NEAR Intents processed around $800 million in swaps and payments, bringing cumulative totals to roughly $1.8 billion since the product launched earlier this year. The platform streamlines cross-chain transactions: users specify an outcome — for instance, “swap USDC on Ethereum for NEAR on Solana” — while NEAR Intents handles routing automatically. USDC, WETH, and newer ecosystem tokens now dominate by volume, with Ethereum, Solana, and Zcash leading on the blockchain side. Unique active users reached 113,000 last week, reflecting sustained engagement.

Orders are bundled and matched by relayers, reducing transaction failures and gas costs, appealing to traders seeking seamless cross-chain execution without juggling multiple wallets or bridges.

Zashi adds a privacy layer with two live features: Zashi Swaps, allowing users to convert BTC, SOL, USDC, and other assets directly into ZEC within the app for shielding, and CrossPay, which lets recipients receive funds in any NEAR-supported crypto of their choice.

The integration comes as Zcash has quadrupled in price over the past month. Zashi’s smooth on- and off-ramps to NEAR Intents enhance usability for everyday users while demonstrating a template for other privacy wallets to leverage NEAR Intents’ automated routing in the background.
