The team behind the Trump memecoin set the record straight on Thursday, revealing that the top 220 token holders on the leaderboard, with the smallest wallet containing $420 worth of TRUMP, are eligible to win the dinner. This clarification comes in response to rumors suggesting that participants needed six-figure token holdings to qualify.

“We want to clear up some misconceptions circulating on X and in the media,” the team wrote on their official X account. “You do not need $300K+ to take part (you don’t); and we are not unlocking tokens into this competition (we’re not).”

TRUMP tokens saw a 70% increase this week, trading at approximately $12 as of Thursday, largely due to the hype surrounding the “Dinner with Trump” event, as previously reported by CoinDesk.

Some users on X had speculated that only those holding more than $300,000 in tokens would be able to participate, while others pointed to the 220th ranked wallet on the blockchain explorer as the minimum requirement. The team dismissed these claims, emphasizing that participants must register via the official leaderboard and that only time-weighted holdings during the competition are counted.

Currently, the top wallet on the leaderboard, under the name “Sun,” holds over 1.1 million TRUMP tokens, valued at almost $14 million. The 220th spot is occupied by “HAR,” with just 35.3 TRUMP tokens — around $420.

There are 25 VIP wallets listed on the leaderboard, with the cutoff set at over $400,000 worth of TRUMP.

The team also addressed concerns about the impact of token unlocks on the competition, assuring the public that both the cliff unlock and the daily unlocks will remain inaccessible for 90 days, which exceeds the duration of the competition.

“We want to reiterate that tokens from the cliff unlock and the subsequent daily unlocks will stay locked for an additional 90 days,” the team clarified.
