Trader Returns with 3x Leveraged Aster Long Following $1B Bitcoin Bet

James Wynn Reenters Market with 3x Leveraged ASTER Long After Recent Liquidation – 28/9/2025

James Wynn, the pseudonymous trader behind a billion-dollar Bitcoin wager earlier this year, has returned to the market with a high-leverage position on ASTER, just days after being liquidated on the same token.

The trade, first spotted by Onchain Lens, involves a 3x leveraged long worth over $16,000, entered at $1.97 with a liquidation price around $1.57. While smaller in size compared to Wynn’s prior positions, the move appears aimed at capitalizing on ASTER’s upcoming airdrop.

“I’m farming the $ASTER airdrop,” Wynn wrote on X. “I believe it will be one of the biggest [in] crypto history.”

Wynn’s latest bet continues his history of high-risk trades on Hyperliquid, an on-chain derivatives platform. Earlier this year, he placed a $1.2 billion Bitcoin long using 40x leverage, which closed with a $17.5 million loss before he flipped into a billion-dollar short, at one point risking his entire $50 million wallet.

Ultimately, Wynn walked away “a wynner,” netting $25 million in profit. His return to ASTER demonstrates his ongoing appetite for leveraged, high-stakes plays in the crypto market.
