Steno Research Predicts Ether Will Outperform Bitcoin in 2025
Ether (ETH) is projected to outperform Bitcoin (BTC) in 2025, with its price potentially more than doubling to surpass $8,000, according to a recent report from Steno Research. Historical trends and the outcome of Donald Trump’s U.S. presidential election victory are cited as key drivers behind this optimistic forecast.
The report predicts Bitcoin will climb to at least $150,000 next year, up from its current level of around $94,000, while Ether is expected to surge from approximately $3,400 to a minimum of $8,000. Additionally, Steno anticipates the Ether-to-Bitcoin ratio will rise to 0.06 over the next 12 months, compared to its current level of 0.0357, mirroring patterns seen in previous market cycles.
Altcoins are expected to take center stage in 2025. “This outlook is partly based on the belief that Donald Trump’s presidential victory creates a more favorable environment for altcoins compared to Bitcoin,” noted analyst Mads Eberhardt.
Steno Research also predicts Bitcoin’s market dominance will decline to around 45%, down from its current level of approximately 56.6%.
The report highlights that the total value locked (TVL) in decentralized applications (dApps) is projected to hit a record $300 billion next year. Such growth would further reinforce the positive outlook for altcoin prices.
Moreover, the potential approval and launch of new cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the U.S. are seen as another catalyst for increased investor confidence in altcoins.
“2025 will mark an unprecedented era of institutional adoption in the crypto space,” the report concluded, emphasizing a transformative year ahead for Ether and the broader altcoin market.
