PowerTrade: TRUMP, XRP, and SOL Options Highlight Prospects for a Year-End Altcoin Upswing

Crypto options platform PowerTrade says traders are positioning for a potential year-end rally across altcoins, with SOL, XRP, TRUMP, HYPE, and LINK drawing the most attention.

According to PowerTrade, SOL, XRP, and TRUMP are leading the charge, with strong call option activity for December expirations. “Traders are betting on altcoin season extending into year-end, with heavy call activity in AEVO, AR, DOGE, ENA, HYPE, LINK, MOG, PAXG, SOL, TIA, TRUMP, and ZRO,” said Bernd Sischka, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at PowerTrade.

The platform reported over $1 billion in August trading volume, with roughly 68% of trades in call options, signaling bullish sentiment. Solana attracted notable call buying at strike prices above current levels, pointing to a potential Q4 breakout. XRP saw large December call trades, reflecting optimism over regulatory clarity or ecosystem developments, while TRUMP options showed massive call spreads anticipating increased volatility.

Meme coins such as DOGE and PEPE drew mostly retail interest, whereas established altcoins like WIF saw rising open interest, suggesting institutional accumulation. PowerTrade highlighted that institutions are increasingly active, executing block trades on Bitcoin, Ether, and altcoins to combine hedging with speculative bets.

Although smaller than platforms like Deribit, PowerTrade stands out by offering options on lesser-known altcoins, giving traders the ability to hedge risk and capitalize on price moves in tokens often overlooked by larger exchanges.
