HIVE Digital Mining Capacity Exceeds 10 EH/s, Strategic Goal: 20+ EH/s by Year’s Close

HIVE Digital Rockets Past 10 EH/s with Paraguay Hydro Power, Targets 25 EH/s by Year-End

HIVE Digital Technologies has supercharged its mining capabilities, crossing 10 exahash per second (EH/s) in May — a landmark driven by its new 100 MW hydro-powered site in Paraguay, signaling a bold push into high-efficiency, green mining.

The upgrade marks a 58% increase in hashrate compared to April. HIVE mined 139 bitcoin last month, averaging 4.5 BTC per day, while maintaining energy efficiency at 20 joules per terahash (J/TH). The company’s monthly average hashrate clocked in at 8.5 EH/s, now contributing over 1% to the global Bitcoin network.

“This is the beginning of our next growth phase,” said CEO Aydin Kilic, adding that performance upgrades will likely increase daily production to 12+ BTC by Q4 and reduce unit economics to below $50K per bitcoin.

HIVE is targeting 18 EH/s by summer and 25 EH/s before the end of 2025, as it leverages hydroelectric energy across its sites in Paraguay, Canada, and Sweden. Meanwhile, its Buzz division continues building AI compute infrastructure to diversify revenue and future-proof operations.

Friday’s market action reflected growing confidence: HIVE shares jumped 13%, tracking bitcoin’s surge past $105,000.
