Gas-Backed Bitcoin Mining Site Launched in Alberta by AgriFORCE, With 1 EH/s Capacity in Sight

AgriFORCE Converts Wasted Gas into Digital Power at New Alberta Mining Site

AgriFORCE Growing Systems is pushing the frontier of energy and computing with the launch of a new gas-powered bitcoin mining operation in Berwyn, Alberta.

Using stranded natural gas from oil and gas wells, the facility — developed in tandem with BlueFlare Energy — powers 120 mining rigs drawing 425 kW, delivering over 32 PH/s of bitcoin compute. A second-phase expansion is underway to add another 200 kW of capacity.

The company’s off-grid approach repurposes unused fossil fuel output into productive digital work, aligning economic incentives with energy sustainability. BlueFlare’s platform offers full emissions transparency with real-time data tracking and carbon monitoring.

This is just the first step in AgriFORCE’s broader plan to transform natural gas into modular digital infrastructure. With two more Alberta locations — Hinton and Oyen — in development, AgriFORCE aims to scale its total compute power by over 1.3 MW and diversify into AI workloads and industrial edge compute beyond crypto mining.

The company has already mined seven BTC across its Alberta and Ohio sites and plans to hold on to about half of its bitcoin reserves as a treasury asset while investing the rest into operational expansion.

By Q1 2026, AgriFORCE expects to reach 1 EH/s, establishing itself at the crossroads of digital infrastructure and off-grid energy innovation.
