“Full Crypto Trading Returns to Bybit India After $1 Million Penalty and Regulatory Clearance”

Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has resumed full trading services in India following the payment of a $1 million fine and registration with the country’s financial regulator, ending months of regulatory restrictions.

Indian users can now access Bybit’s mobile app through the App Store and Google Play, while the platform’s website is expected to relaunch in phases over the coming days.

Bybit had suspended most services in January 2025 — excluding withdrawals — after the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) determined it was operating without proper anti-money laundering registration.

The exchange returned to India in February after registering as a reporting entity with FIU-IND. Full resumption of services required extensive coordination with regulators and the implementation of enhanced Know Your Customer (KYC) and security protocols.

“India is among the most promising digital asset markets globally,” said Bybit CEO Ben Zhou. “It’s not a comeback, it’s a new chapter for Bybit in India.”

Bybit ranks among the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, alongside Binance and OKX, according to CoinDesk Data’s latest Exchange Review.
