Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Emerges Ahead of Kamala Harris in Polymarket’s 2028 Democratic Forecasts

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has overtaken former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris as a leading Democratic contender for the 2028 presidential nomination on prediction platform Polymarket.

Johnson’s contracts trade at 7 cents, implying a 7% probability of securing the nomination. That positions him fourth overall, behind California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Harris holds 5% odds, tied with Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, while Tim Walz, Michelle Obama, and Mark Cuban are priced at just 1%.

Polymarket, which allows speculation on political and financial outcomes, recently announced new funding from 1789 Capital and added Donald Trump Jr. to its advisory board.

The Rock’s Political Buzz

Johnson has acknowledged interest in his political future. In 2023, he said multiple parties approached him after a survey showed 46% of Americans would back a presidential run.

“That was an interesting poll … I was really moved by that,” Johnson said on Trevor Noah’s What Now? podcast. “At the end of 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run, and if I could run.”

A self-described centrist independent, Johnson endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 but sat out the 2024 election. With 392 million Instagram followers and global visibility from wrestling and acting, Johnson’s popularity gives him a platform few traditional politicians can match.
