Dormant for Three Years, LuBian Wallet Shifts $1B in Bitcoin, According to Blockchain Data

LuBian Wallet Moves $1.1B in BTC After Three-Year Dormancy

A Bitcoin wallet tied to LuBian, the mining pool hacked in December 2020, moved 9,757 BTC—worth around $1.1 billion—on Wednesday, ending three years of inactivity.

Blockchain analytics firms Peckshield and Lookonchain reported the funds were sent to two new addresses, “34kn9z…s9tef” and “bc1q4c…77s0.” Analysts say it is unclear whether the transfers indicate liquidation or are precautionary moves to fresh wallets.

The transfers follow reports that the U.S. Department of Justice recently seized $15 billion in Bitcoin from the Prince Group, associated with forced-labor operations in Cambodia. Forensics firm Elliptic confirmed that part of these coins—originally 127,271 BTC stolen from LuBian in 2020—were included in the seizure.

The wallet activity highlights ongoing scrutiny over recovered stolen crypto and the long-lasting impact of the LuBian hack.
