Donald Trump Jr. Says Crypto Will Shape America’s Financial Future at Ondo Summit

Donald Trump Jr. made a surprise appearance at the Ondo Summit in New York City on Thursday, declaring that cryptocurrency will be a critical factor in maintaining the United States’ economic leadership.

“Crypto isn’t just an asset class—it’s the future of American economic dominance,” Trump Jr. stated. “If we don’t lead in this space, someone else will.”

His comments followed a major investment by World Liberty Financial (WLF), the Trump family-backed crypto firm, which acquired $470,000 worth of Ondo Finance’s native token (ONDO) earlier in the day.

“We need a regulatory environment that fosters growth rather than stifles innovation,” Trump Jr. added. “Overregulation by out-of-touch policymakers risks pushing this revolutionary technology offshore.”

Chase Herro, co-founder of WLF, also shared insights into the firm’s vision, revealing that they plan to establish a “strategic reserve” of digital assets to reinforce the project’s long-term stability.

WLF has aggressively expanded its crypto holdings in recent months, accumulating ETH, wrapped BTC, TRX, AAVE, and LINK, among other assets. The ONDO acquisition aligns with Ondo Finance’s announcement of a new layer-1 blockchain, Ondo Chain, designed to support tokenized assets.

Earlier in the day, Trump’s media company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), also revealed its intention to launch a series of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF, which will track bitcoin’s price movements.
