Japanese hospitality firm Metaplanet Inc. (TSE: 3350) has achieved a significant benchmark in its Bitcoin-centric treasury strategy, now holding a total of 5,000 BTC. The holdings are currently valued at approximately $428.1 million, acquired at an average cost basis of $85,621 per bitcoin.

The company’s most recent purchase added 145 BTC to its balance sheet, acquired at an average price of $93,327 — an investment of roughly $13.6 million. This move reaffirms Metaplanet’s commitment to using Bitcoin as a long-term store of value.

Metaplanet’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy has delivered strong performance metrics, with a year-to-date BTC Yield of 121.1% in 2025. This proprietary key performance indicator reflects the increase in bitcoin per share, excluding the effects of equity dilution. During the first quarter alone, the firm posted a 95.6% BTC Yield.

While the company’s strategic pivot to Bitcoin is delivering solid treasury gains, Metaplanet’s stock was trading down 5% at the time of publication — a possible reflection of broader market dynamics rather than company fundamentals.
