Bitcoin Rockets to Fresh Record, Crossing $109.4K Mark

Bitcoin Reaches New Peak Above $109,400, Overtaking January Inauguration High

Bitcoin (BTC) surged to a new record price on Wednesday, topping $109,400 and surpassing the level reached hours before President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2017.

The CoinDesk Bitcoin Index reported BTC hitting $109,486 during early U.S. trading, marking a gain of more than 46% from its April lows amid global trade war fears and tariff uncertainties.

This new high coincides with substantial inflows into spot bitcoin ETFs, which have attracted $3.6 billion in May. Influential bitcoin treasury firms like Michael Saylor’s Strategy and the emerging Twenty One Capital have been key buyers driving the surge.

Regulatory progress in the U.S. has added momentum, with the Senate advancing stablecoin regulation and multiple states and countries moving towards bitcoin reserve legislation. These developments enhance the legitimacy of digital assets as an investment class.

Experts argue this rally stands on a firmer footing than previous spikes, citing improved financial conditions, strong stablecoin flows, and an absence of the speculative hype seen in earlier peaks.
