Bitcoin Rewards Take Off as Fold Collaborates With Stripe
Fold Partners With Stripe and Visa to Launch Bitcoin Rewards Credit Card
Fold (NASDAQ: FLD) is rolling out its first bitcoin-only rewards credit card in collaboration with Stripe and Visa (V), offering a seamless way for users to earn bitcoin on daily spending.
The Fold Bitcoin Credit Card will operate on Visa’s network and use Stripe Issuing’s infrastructure. Cardholders earn 2% back in bitcoin instantly, with an additional 1.5% bonus when using a Fold Checking Account with qualifying activity. Customers can also earn up to 10% back with top retail partners, including Amazon, Target, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Uber.
“Our card makes bitcoin accessible to everyone—no categories, no tokens to stake, no exchange accounts required. Just real bitcoin earned automatically with every purchase,” said Fold CEO Will Reeves.
Stripe highlighted the launch as a milestone for its consumer card-issuing platform, enabling fintechs to bring innovative payment products to market without managing infrastructure. Visa’s crypto lead, Cuy Sheffield, added that the partnership offers “a safe, simple way to earn bitcoin as you shop.”
Fold has already processed over $3.1 billion in transactions and distributed $83 million in bitcoin rewards via its debit card, exchange, and gift card programs. The new credit card represents the next step in expanding Fold’s bitcoin-native financial services.
At the time of publication, Fold shares were down 10% to $3.49, and the company holds nearly 1,500 bitcoin in its treasury.
