Bitcoin (BTC) $87,181.76, the leading cryptocurrency by market cap, experienced a sudden flash crash on Hyperliquid at 7:34 UTC, dropping from $83,307 to $80,255 in under a minute before quickly recovering to around $83,000.
The rapid move triggered several liquidations on the platform, including five positions of $10 million each, with the largest single liquidation reaching $36.78 million, according to BlockPulse.
On other centralized exchanges, the downturn was much less severe, with BTC prices holding comfortably above $81,000.
