Binance Unlocks Bitcoin Options Writing Feature for General User Base

Binance Unlocks Bitcoin Options Writing for All Verified Users

Binance has officially opened its bitcoin options writing feature to all eligible users, expanding access to a once-restricted trading tool designed for sophisticated investors.

Previously limited to select participants, the feature now allows a broader user base to write (sell) bitcoin options—enabling strategies such as income generation through premium collection or expressing directional views with limited capital exposure.

“Demand for more advanced trading strategies continues to grow among retail participants,” said Jeff Li, VP of Product at Binance. “Expanding access to options writing empowers users to build more dynamic and diversified portfolios.”

Binance’s bitcoin options trading volume has climbed significantly, rising from $4.1 billion in 2020 to nearly $139 billion by mid-2025. The growth reflects increased appetite for flexible hedging and yield strategies in an evolving market environment.

The exchange is also rolling out incentives to support adoption. Eligible users writing options in BTC, ETH, BNB, and SOL can receive up to 20% in trading fee discounts, while updates to the Options Enhanced Program will reduce qualification thresholds and reward high-volume traders with improved fee structures.

All users must still pass Binance’s risk assessment and meet margin requirements to access the options writing feature.

The broader availability underscores Binance’s push to make institutional-grade derivatives tools accessible to its global user base—bridging the gap between complex market strategies and everyday traders.
