As BTC edges closer to key resistance, Bitcoin accumulation continues to grow.
Bitcoin Accumulation Grows as BTC Nears $100K Resistance Zone
Bitcoin (BTC) has seen a 3% increase since May began, following a 14% rise in April, signaling increasing investor optimism.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have experienced heightened inflows over the past two weeks, contributing to the overall market strength. Meanwhile, continued Bitcoin treasury accumulation is also providing ongoing support.
On-chain data from Glassnode reveals that both long-term holders (LTHs) and short-term holders (STHs) are growing their BTC positions. LTHs have been accumulating since early March, while STHs have started buying in the past week.
According to Glassnode, LTHs are defined as investors who have held BTC for over 155 days, while STHs are those holding for less than that. The latest data shows that LTHs have added over 250,000 BTC since the beginning of March, bringing their total holdings to more than 14 million BTC.
“This reflects a resurgence of confidence, with accumulation pressures now outweighing the need to sell or reduce exposure,” Glassnode noted in its report.
Interestingly, STHs, who typically act in opposition to LTHs, have also been showing signs of confidence, adding more than 25,000 BTC in the past week. This is a significant shift from the distribution trend seen earlier in 2025, where over 200,000 BTC were sold during Bitcoin’s 30% decline.
As Bitcoin approaches the $97,000 level, this broad-based accumulation suggests strengthening confidence among investors. However, Glassnode has identified a major resistance point at $99,900, a level where long-term holders could start taking profits, having accumulated unrealized gains of more than 350%.
“With the market approaching this key resistance zone, we can expect some increased sell-side pressure. This could create a need for substantial buy-side demand to absorb the selling and maintain upward momentum,” Glassnode concluded.
In conclusion, Bitcoin’s current accumulation suggests growing optimism, but attention should be paid to the $99,900 level, as it could spark profit-taking and volatility.
