BNB Advances as Investors Flock to Faster Blocks and Tokenized Shares
BNB Ticks Up as Faster Network and Tokenized Stocks Draw Investor Attention
BNB, the native token of the BNB Chain, is trending slightly higher thanks to recent network upgrades and new developments in tokenized stocks. The token has gained about 0.6% over the past 24 hours, fueled by steady trading volumes and growing investor interest in innovative financial products.
A key factor behind this uptick is the Maxwell hard fork, which went live at the end of last month. The upgrade cut block times from approximately 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds, effectively doubling transaction speeds and boosting the network’s capacity to handle surges in activity.
BNB Chain currently holds around $6 billion in total value locked, according to data from DeFiLlama, positioning it as a competitive option for decentralized apps that demand fast processing.
Another driver of optimism has been the announcement by Kraken and Backed Finance to bring tokenized equities to BNB Chain. This move will enable users outside the U.S. to trade blockchain-based versions of popular stocks like Apple and Tesla 24/7. These assets will be issued as BEP-20 tokens and available in 185 global markets, expanding access for international investors.
The broader crypto market has also shown strength, with the CoinDesk 20 index climbing 2.7% over the last day, even as traders keep an eye on geopolitical tensions, including new tariffs announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, set to begin on August 1.
From a technical perspective, BNB faced resistance near the $664.20 level earlier in the trading session, based on analysis from CoinDesk Research. Market watchers are monitoring for signs of accumulation, suggesting that larger investors may be quietly increasing their exposure. However, BNB slipped slightly to about $661.75 later in the day as some traders locked in recent profits.
The focus now turns to whether BNB can push decisively above the $665–$667 zone, which could either spark further gains or trigger another wave of selling pressure.
