BTC Rockets Over $106,000 on Hopes for Iran-Israel Ceasefire Agreement
Bitcoin Surges Past $106K After Trump Announces Iran-Israel Ceasefire Agreement
Bitcoin rallied sharply Monday evening following a statement by former President Donald Trump on Truth Social, declaring that Iran and Israel have agreed to a “complete and total” ceasefire, expected to commence within six hours.
Trump posted: “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now).”
Following the announcement, bitcoin climbed nearly 3%, briefly breaking above $106,000 after having dropped to a low near $98,500 just a day earlier. At the time of reporting, bitcoin was trading around $105,300.
U.S. stock futures advanced approximately 0.5%, while crude oil prices declined to $65 per barrel after earlier surging above $75.
The broader cryptocurrency market rallied strongly, with altcoins like ether (ETH), XRP, and solana (SOL) gaining between 8% and 10%.
Though initially met with some skepticism, Reuters later confirmed reports from a senior Iranian official that Tehran had agreed to the ceasefire proposal with Israel.
