With $500M in Sight, Semler Scientific Acquires Additional 185 BTC in Strategic Move
Semler Scientific Increases Bitcoin Holdings With $20M Purchase, Taps Equity Program for Funding
Semler Scientific (NASDAQ: SMLR) has added another 185 BTC to its balance sheet, investing $20 million between May 24 and June 3. The average purchase price was $107,974 per bitcoin, according to the company’s latest disclosure.
Following this acquisition, Semler now holds 4,449 BTC, valued at roughly $467 million based on current market levels (~$105,000 per BTC). The company’s cumulative bitcoin investment totals $410 million, reflecting an average cost basis of $92,158 per BTC.
The bitcoin purchases were financed through proceeds from the company’s $500 million at-the-market equity offering, which commenced on April 15. As of June 3, Semler had raised $136.2 million from the sale of 3.5 million common shares.
Year-to-date, Semler’s bitcoin position has yielded a 26.7% return. However, this performance hasn’t translated into equity gains—SMLR shares are down 35% in 2025 and traded flat in premarket hours Tuesday.
The continued BTC accumulation underscores Semler’s conviction in bitcoin as a strategic treasury asset, even as broader market sentiment remains mixed.
