Experts Forecast SEC Approval for SOL, XRP, and DOGE Spot ETFs in the Coming Months.

SEC Poised to Approve SOL, XRP, and DOGE Spot ETFs in 2025, Analysts Forecast

Analysts are predicting that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is on the brink of approving several spot altcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with decisions expected to be made in the next few months. The anticipation comes as the SEC moves closer to making final rulings on numerous ETF proposals that include popular altcoins like solana (SOL), XRP, and dogecoin (DOGE).

Bloomberg’s ETF experts, Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart, have raised the probability of these altcoin ETFs being approved to 75% by the end of 2025, citing the growing acceptance of digital assets within the SEC’s review process.

A total of eight different spot altcoin ETF proposals are currently under review, covering a broad spectrum of cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin (LTC), Cardano (ADA), and Polkadot (DOT). Among them, ETFs focused on baskets of altcoins are considered the most likely to receive approval, with analysts assigning a 90% chance to these proposals. Single-asset ETFs for SOL, XRP, and DOGE are expected to follow shortly after.

The SEC’s initial decisions are due by July 2, when the agency must respond to multiple basket-style ETF filings from prominent fund managers, including Grayscale and Bitwise. Meanwhile, single-asset altcoin ETFs for SOL, XRP, and DOGE will likely see rulings by October, with further deadlines in November and December for additional proposals.

The forecast for altcoin ETF approval has gained momentum following changes in the regulatory landscape, particularly with President Trump’s return to office and the appointment of Paul Atkins, a well-known crypto advocate, as SEC Chairman. These changes have led to renewed optimism that the SEC will finally embrace a more forward-thinking approach to digital asset regulation, paving the way for broader institutional investment in crypto.
