Samsung Wallet Prepares to Support USDC Transfers

Samsung Electronics America is set to add USDC transfers to Samsung Wallet in the final week of October 2026, bringing stablecoin functionality to eligible Galaxy users across the U.S. Samsung says the feature will be available across a potential base of 82 million compatible devices.

The service will allow users to send USDC from Samsung Wallet to supported cryptocurrency wallets worldwide or to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. When funds are sent to a bank account, recipients may receive the money in their local currency, so they do not necessarily need to have a crypto wallet.

Samsung is presenting the integration as a simpler way to use stablecoins. Users will not need to download a separate crypto application or directly manage private keys. While the size of Samsung’s compatible device base gives USDC a potentially large distribution channel, actual adoption will depend on eligibility, destination availability, and user preference.

Samsung Wallet’s USDC Transfer Structure

Samsung says it will not charge a fee for sending USDC to compatible external crypto wallets. However, the receiving wallet or exchange may apply its own charges. Transaction times will vary based on blockchain network conditions, and transfers to sanctioned jurisdictions will be prohibited.

Transfers to bank accounts will follow a separate pricing structure. Fees will depend on the destination country and the amount being transferred. Samsung Wallet will show the applicable charge and estimated delivery time before the user confirms the transaction. The countries and banks that can receive funds will also vary.

Bastion will provide the infrastructure behind the cross-border payment system, while Coinbase will act as Bastion’s official sub-custodian. USDC will be safeguarded through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung said regulated partners will handle stablecoin accounts, custody, and the movement of funds.

Samsung itself will not operate as a bank, money transmitter, or digital-asset custodian and will not hold customer funds.

Who Qualifies for the Service?

The initial launch will be limited to eligible U.S. residents who are 18 or older, have a Samsung Account, and use a compatible Galaxy device running Android 13 or later. Users must register for the service, complete identity verification, and enable biometric authentication on their registered device.

Samsung said USDC will be displayed as the default dollar stablecoin when users select the “Buy Stablecoin” option. However, this does not confirm that users will be able to complete every part of the funding, conversion, and cash-out process within Samsung Wallet. Samsung has not provided details on all funding methods or confirmed a complete dollar-to-USDC conversion system inside the app.

Users will need to choose a supported crypto wallet or eligible bank destination when making a transfer. Availability will depend on supported blockchain networks, countries, and recipient-account requirements. For bank transfers, users will see the applicable fee and estimated delivery time before approving the transaction.

USDC will be the first stablecoin supported when the service launches in the U.S. during the final week of October. Samsung said it could later add support for additional markets and introduce features such as online and in-store tap-to-pay purchases.

The integration could give USDC access to a large mobile user base through Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem. However, the actual impact will depend on how widely the feature is available, which destinations are supported, and whether users adopt Samsung Wallet as an alternative to existing crypto and payment services.
