2.6 Million Payments Push XRP Ledger to New Daily High
XRP Ledger processed more than 2.6 million successful payments in a single day, reaching a four-month peak as network activity began to rebound following a prolonged slowdown.
The daily payment count crossed 2.6 million for the first time in roughly four months, according to The Crypto Basic, based on data aggregated by Cryptorank.io on Aug. 10, 2026. XRP was trading around $1.01 at the time, but the surge in on-chain activity had not yet translated into stronger price performance.
The increase follows an extended period of weaker XRP prices and declining activity on the XRP Ledger. The latest reading suggests payment activity is starting to recover after months of reduced network usage.
The 2.6 million figure represents XRPL’s highest daily successful-payment count in about four months. The Crypto Basic report attributed the increase to renewed ledger activity despite XRP’s prolonged price decline.
However, the figure represents only a single day and does not account for all activity on the network. Payments are one part of XRPL usage, alongside decentralized exchange transactions, account operations and other ledger functions.
XRPL Recorded Strong Activity in June
Separate data from XRPScan, cited by Yahoo Finance on June 16, showed that the ledger processed 769,646 transactions that day. Successful payments accounted for approximately 427,000 transactions, making up more than half of the total.
The network averaged 23.49 transactions per second, while ledgers closed approximately every 3.82 seconds. Decentralized exchange offer creation was the second-largest category of activity, followed by account-related operations.
On June 15, XRPL processed 900,189 total transactions, including 403,422 payments. Both sessions exceeded 750,000 transactions, indicating that the network could approach 1 million daily transactions if payments and decentralized exchange activity continue to expand.
Ripple Continues Building Institutional Services
Ripple is also expanding its institutional business beyond XRP and the XRP Ledger. Yahoo Finance reported that CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects the company to achieve a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate by the end of 2026, excluding XRP held on Ripple’s balance sheet.
The projection comes after Ripple acquired prime brokerage firm Hidden Road for $1.25 billion in 2025. The acquisition added credit, clearing and prime brokerage capabilities to Ripple’s existing payments business.
The latest 2.6 million-payment reading marks a significant increase compared with XRPL activity recorded over the previous four months.
June data also illustrate that the ledger’s overall throughput is driven by multiple forms of activity, including payments, decentralized exchange transactions and account operations, offering a broader picture of recent network usage.
