Kalshi Prepares for November Midterms With Dedicated Political Market Hubs

Kalshi has introduced its U.S. “Midterms Hub” as the prediction market company looks to establish itself as a major platform for election forecasting ahead of the November midterm elections.

The new hub enables users to track market expectations for individual U.S. Senate and House races as the nation prepares for the upcoming elections, the company said in a statement released Wednesday.

Kalshi said the platform provides a real-time look at where participants are placing trades and how expectations around different races are changing. The company positioned the hub as a centralized tool for following state and federal election forecasts and understanding the latest market outlook.

The election estimates featured on the hub are generated from current market odds across Kalshi’s prediction contracts and displayed through a U.S. election map.

The platform will also include polling averages, allowing users to compare prediction market probabilities with traditional survey data. Additional information will include candidate fundraising figures from the Federal Election Commission, along with selected news reports and analysis from various outlets.

The launch comes as Kalshi continues expanding beyond political markets, with reports that the company is seeking approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to introduce perpetual contracts outside the cryptocurrency sector.

Bloomberg reported that Kalshi is exploring perpetual derivative products tied to commodities such as gold, silver, and platinum.

The Midterms Hub represents Kalshi’s latest attempt to increase its influence in political prediction markets ahead of November’s elections. In May, the company launched the “American Power Index,” which it described as a political version of the S&P 500 for measuring the relative performance of U.S. political parties.

Kalshi reported $31 billion in total notional trading volume in June, up more than 70% from May. Sports-related contracts accounted for roughly 85% of activity, while the company said World Cup-focused markets generated $22.42 billion in trading volume.

The announcement follows reports that Kalshi is seeking to raise additional capital at a valuation of around $40 billion, nearly double the $22 billion valuation from its previous funding round.
