Semler Scientific’s Latest Purchase of 215 Bitcoin Brings Its Stack to 1,273 BTC

Semler Scientific Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 1,273 BTC, Valued at $114 Million

Semler Scientific (SMLR) has expanded its bitcoin (BTC) holdings to 1,273 BTC, with the total stash valued at $114 million at bitcoin’s current price of nearly $90,000.

On Monday, the company disclosed the purchase of an additional 215 bitcoin for $17.7 million over the ten-day period ending Nov. 15. The average purchase price for the new bitcoins was $82,502 per BTC. The acquisition was partially funded through its at-the-market stock issuance program, which has raised $21.5 million so far.

In total, Semler has spent $88.7 million to acquire its bitcoin holdings, resulting in an average cost of $69,682 per BTC.

The company has introduced a new key performance indicator (KPI) called “Bitcoin Yield” to track the shareholder value created by its bitcoin acquisition strategy. This metric, pioneered by MicroStrategy (MSTR), assesses the accretive impact of bitcoin purchases.

“We’ve achieved a Bitcoin Yield of 37.3% since adopting our bitcoin treasury strategy earlier this year,” said Eric Semler, chairman of Semler Scientific. “This reflects meaningful accretion for our shareholders and underscores the success of our strategy.”

This announcement marks Semler’s fourth bitcoin-related disclosure, coming alongside similar moves by Metaplanet, Marathon Digital, and MicroStrategy earlier in the day.

Semler’s shares gained 2.4% in premarket trading and have risen 33% since the company embarked on its bitcoin investment strategy last summer.
