$153M Worth of Bitcoin Moved From SpaceX Wallet, Marking First Activity Since 2022
SpaceX Bitcoin Wallet Sends $153M in First Move Since 2022
A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet associated with SpaceX has executed a major transaction—its first in more than three years—transferring 1,308 BTC (worth about $153 million) to a previously inactive address, according to blockchain analytics platform Arkham.
The transfer originated from the wallet 15oKQ7…i7Jf1G, tagged by Arkham as belonging to Elon Musk’s space exploration company. The BTC was moved to an unlabelled wallet bc1q8k…phartf, which has not conducted any further transactions since receiving the funds.
This marks the first on-chain activity from the wallet since June 10, 2022, when it moved 3,505 BTC—valued at $102 million at the time—to Coinbase.
Arkham estimates that SpaceX still holds 6,977 BTC, currently valued at approximately $815 million. This puts the company among the top corporate holders of bitcoin, alongside Tesla and MicroStrategy.
At this point, it’s unclear whether the latest movement signals a sale, an internal transfer, or a shift in treasury strategy. So far, the receiving address has not made any additional transactions.
